There are just three steps to registering for comps:
- Complete the Comprehensive Exam Checklist Form.
- Fill out and submit the Diploma Application.
Submit your diploma application by selecting “Graduation: Apply” in the Academic section of the Student Center in Cardinal Students. Please note that a diploma will not be provided to you if this form is not provided in a timely way. - Register for the exam LSC 698A or 698B in Cardinal Students by add/drop
In order to take comps, you must be registered for the comprehensive exam through Cardinal Students. You register for the exam in the same way that you register for a class. If you are taking classes in the same semester during which you are taking comps, register for LSC 698A. If you are not taking classes in the same semester during which you are taking comps, register for LSC 698B Master's Comps (no classes). Those who sign up for LSC 698B, master's without classes, are charged for one credit.
If you decide not to take comps after you have registered, you must drop in Cardinal Students. Students may drop comps anytime before comps is scheduled to begin. But please contact the department office if you decide to drop after add/drop deadline.
