All students registered in the M.S.L.I.S. degree program are members of the Association of Graduate Library and Information Science Students, which each year elects officers and sends representatives to the Graduate Student Association of The Catholic University of America. AGLISS invites speakers to the campus and schedules social events during the school year.

There are also active student chapters of the Special Libraries Association (CUA-SLA), the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) and the Society of American Archivists (SAA-CUA). Networking and participating in the activities of other area professional associations is a rewarding experience for students, who are regularly invited to attend events held by organizations such as Law Librarians Society of Washington, D.C., and the Catholic Library Association.

In addition to these organizations, all library and information science students are automatically members of the Graduate Student Association at Catholic University.
