The program offered by the Department of Information Sciences is structured around a foundation of four core courses. Students do not formally declare majors; they may choose to concentrate their studies in a pre-designed track or work with their faculty advisor to develop their own track.
The School Library Media Certification has very specific requirements which must be fulfilled by the student through their coursework in order to receive the state-issued certificate needed to work as a School Library Media Specialist in public school libraries.
Please note that from Fall 2026, we have updated the tracks to reflect the change of the field. Students who are following the previous course of study can visit the course of study webpage.
